In this short essay "Beliefs about Families," by Mary Pipher. First, the author described the important of the words,"Family." Blood related family always on their side no matter how big or small the problems were. And she also described a group of friends as one family as long as their love and care one another. Furthermore, she described the lucky and unlucky person. She started off with an unlucky person. There was this girl named,"Janet." When Janet was in college, both of her parents passed away in a car accident. Janet has a sister, and her sister called only when she needed money. Janet finished her college and worked as a congresswoman. She lived along in a house with one dog and every special day; she bring a cinnamon rolls to one family on Thanksgiving dinner. And last year, she sprained her ankle and one family brought her meals. For some person was searching for their biological parents, but those parents denied her. Anita was lucky enough that she still her aunt and uncle as her family. Unfortunately, Cutis wasn't able to come home to his parents and spent a Christmas with his family because his parents were ejected him. Since, Cutis was in the US.Navy, he manages to have a family of himself, his US.Navy families. Then, she described about our society, the culture of rudeness and money driven. In general, people of this country started to be rude to everyone, or any person that they just met. We saw it on T.V. like the author described Howard Stern, G. Gordon Liddy, and Newt Gingrich, those people are rude. And our culture is turned into money driven, and they always think of themself frist, the green bills, what in is for me? They don't care about friendship or family.
After I read this essay, it make me appreciates my families and friends because they always on my side, no mattter if the situations is hard or easy. I just want to say, "Thank You to my family and all my bestfriends." I am bless to have all these good people in my life. When I am sad or need answer, they always guide me into the right direction. I also learn that, yet the world is starting to change people to be rude, but we're not a rude person by heart. It's not too late to start over because we all need a chance, specially for someone like us. We can start by asking ourself, like, what can we do to change our society? What can we do to make the different in our community? We can all start a new trend in our society, by be nice to our neighbor, our classmates, and to our community. Moreover, we can help out the community by doing a volunteer work. And hopefully, we all can make a different before our society turn into a society that driven by rudiness and money hungriness.
Really nice reflection here. Be sure to read my comments below.
